Champions Trophy 2002
ICC Champions Trophy, one of the most prestigious cricket tournaments of today, made its debut in the year 1998. Initially, it was known as ICC Knock-out Tournament, but from 2002 onwards, the name was changed to Champions Trophy. The third edition of the Trophy was played in the year 2002, in Sri Lanka. Originally, the tournament was scheduled to be held in India. However, the venue was changed later on, mainly because of the reason that Indian government declined to offer an exemption from tax.
