Sri Lanka wins Canada Cup 2008 by beating Pakistan in Finals. Sri Lanka had a very good start with Sanath Jayasuriya scoring 40 of 34 balls and Mahela Udawatte giving a good support with 25 runs of 19 balls.

Jayasuriya gave a blistering start to the Sri Lankan innings, 66 runs of 1st wicket partnership laid a strong foundation to the innings.

Pakistan gave a low target of 133 to Sri Lanka to win. Salman Butt scored the maximum 44 runs from the Pakistan side. Even though Shoaib Malik (2 wkts for 17) and Shahid Afridi (1 wkt for 15) put breaks on the Sri Lanksn scoring.

It looked as if Pakistan will be able to give a strong fight to Sri Lankans, but 3rd over of Shoaib Akhtar changed the course of the game, he gave 17 runs in that over.

Shoaib Akhtar was the most expensive bowler today giving 40 runs of his 3 overs with an average of 13.33 runs/over.
