India v Sri Lanka, CB Series, 5th match, Adelaide
Sachin Return, Irfan Picked; Sri Lanka Bat
14-Feb-2012 03:06:00 GMT

Adelaide: Sri Lanka skipper Mahela Jayawardene won the toss and decided to bat against India as the islanders look to register their first victory in the fifth match of the ODI tri-series at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday.

Dhoni's men have got a shot in the arm after beating Sri Lanka and Australia in successive matches and their much in debate rotation policy has till now worked.

Not often that one finds Sachin Tendulkar being rested despite being fit and available but the positive aspect is the number of options available for the Indian team with talented players like Praveen Kumar and Rahul Sharma raring to go.

However Sri Lankan side won't be mere pushovers even though they haven't been able to register a single victory.

Twice in Perth, they had India and Australia on the ropes and just couldn't finish off the match. They allowed India to escape from 181 for 6 in the first match and needed only a hit to prevail over Australia.

He has invariably given India the breakthrough and is now an integral part of the playing XI.

Sehwag has a back spasm and is out, Zaheer has a problem with his right calf. Sachin returns, and Irfan is back." Two of India's most loved players are in. And to cool the rotation talk, it is an injury that sidelines Sehwag

Dammika has a niggle, Thirimanne is out. Thisara and Herath picked in Sri Lanka squad.
