Rain Delays Start of First ODI B/W England and West Indies
21-May-2009 16:14:00 IST

Headingley: Rain delayed the scheduled toss in the first One-Day International between England and the West Indies at Headingley here on Thursday.

The pitch and square remained fully covered as heavy early morning rain, combined with overcast skies, meant play would not get underway as planned at 10:45am (0945GMT).

This was the first of a three-match series which followed on from England's 2-0 whitewash in the brief Test campaign between the two sides that ended at Durham's Riverside ground on Monday.

Earlier this year, England won a One-day series against the West Indies in the Caribbean 3-2.
