New Zealand Twenty20 Squad Against India
21-Feb-2009 16:56:00 IST

Christchurch: Hard hitting Kiwi all rounder Jacob Oram returns from an injury scare when he was included in the squad for the two T20 games against India.

Ross Taylor also returns to the fray after being injured during the final ODI against Australia. Taylor replaces Peter Fulton who flopped miserably against the Aussies.

Oram will play only as a batsman while swing bowler Kyle Mills is ruled out with an Achilles tendon problem. Regarding Mills the Kiwi convener of selectors Glenn Turner said that "he's had an ultrasound scan which showed no tear in the tendon so it might be inflammation of the sheath, we are just not quite sure." Mills' spot is being taken by left arm swing bowler Ewen Thompson.

The Twenty20s will be played in Christchurch and Wellington on February 25 and 27.

Squad: Daniel Vettori (c), Brendon McCullum (wk), Martin Guptill, Neil Broom, Grant Elliott, Jesse Ryder, Ian Butler, Jacob Oram, Nathan McCullum, Iain O'Brien, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor, Ewen Thompson.
