India in Srilanka 2008, ODI Series
India v Sri Lanka Fourth One Day Match At Colombo, Wednesday August 27, 2008
26-Aug-2008 18:15:00 IST

Colombo: There's a difference between failure and success. And it's called MS Dhoni. For the first time in years, the Indian cricket team is making a habit of beating the odds. This is something they haven't done very effectively, or regularly, in the past, despite boasting trump-cards of world cricket, like Sachin Tendulkar for instance.

With Sunday's victory; India have a 2-1 lead over their opponents in the ODI series and they now have the psychological edge. The Indians need to win one of the two remaining games to bag a series victory. For the first time in 23 years in a bilateral series against Sri Lanka in Srilanka, India have won two successive ODIs.

India may be leading, but the Sri Lankans know they can make a comeback. Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene's knock of 94 in the third match cannot be undermined, given the fact they were reeling under pressure when the came in.

If Indians win the series, it will special because it isn't often that Sri Lanka concede a series on home turf. Such a feat could be another feather in Dhoni's cap.

Facts About Match

Weather: There's a 60% chance of rain as scattered thundershowers are expected to hit the ground again. The forecasters have got it wrong three times Law of averages might just help them get it right. At 28oC, it'll be hot.

Ground: Win the toss and bat first and get to at least 240. That should be the mantra for all day-nighters at the Premadasa. Batting under lights gets exceptionally difficult as the ball swings a lot and the spinners too benefit from a wicket that slows down.

Chance to win: India 11/10 and Sri Lanka 4/6.

Head to head: Total 104, India won - 54 and SL won - 40, NR - 10. In Sri Lanka: Total 37, SL won 20 and India won 11, NR - 6
