South Africa tour of England 2008, ODI Series
England v South Africa, 1st One Day, Headingley Friday Aug 22, 2008
22-Aug-2008 07:26:00 IST

Leeds: Steve Harmison has come out of One Day retirement and has been added to England's squad to face South Africa in place of Sidebottom. He will miss England opening ODI against South Africa at Headingley on today. Nottinghamshire seamer Sidebottom was ruled out of the day-night match after fitness test on Thursday on the hip and groin injuries which have troubled him for weeks.

Graeme Smith has revealed that he has been struggling with worsening tennis elbow during the England tour and says he will need to take some time out over the next few months to be ready to face Australia

Weather: Finding some dry weather appears to be the biggest challenge ahead of the ODI series between England and South Africa, but when the contest does get under way - hopefully at Headingley on Friday - one of the major focuses will be how Kevin Pietersen takes on the South Africa attack.

Pitch: Batting friendly pitch, but in first session some bounce helped for fast bowling.
