England v West Indies, 2nd ODI Bristol
Broad-Collingwood Stars in Easy Win Against Windies
24-May-2009 21:46:00 IST

Bristol: England made easy work of a shambolic West Indies side as they coasted to a six-wicket victory at Bristol. A change of format and having the sun on their backs did nothing to improve the visitors' performance as they were shot out for 160. Stuart Broad did the damage at either end of the innings, but Paul Collingwood was the middle-order destroyer with 3 for 16 and Collingwood completed the victory with a sprightly, unbeaten 47.

Paul Collingwood declared man of the match for his all-rounder performance (47*, 3 wickets).

Earlier, England fast bowler Stuart Broad (4 for 46) sparked a collapse that saw the West Indies bowled out for just 160 in the second One-Day International on Sunday. Medium-pacer Paul Collingwood (3 for 16) fully supports to Broad.

Broad took four wickets for 46 runs, including the first two and the last two, as the West Indies were dismissed inside 39 overs.

Medium-pacer Paul Collingwood chipped in with three for 16, including the wicket of rival all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who top scored with 50, after England captain Andrew Strauss won the toss and chose to field.

Broad removed both opener Lendl Simmons and Ramnaresh Sarwan for ducks. Simmons was lbw on the backfoot and Sarwan caught behind off an uncertain push.

West Indies captain Chris Gayle, who'd seen his side thrashed twice during their preceding 2-0 Test series loss in England, tried to counter-attack and lofted Graeme Swann's first ball for six.

Next match on Tuesday may 26 at Edgbaston.

Brief Score: England 161 for 4 (Collingwood 47*, Morgan 2*) beat West Indies 160 (Bravo 50, Broad 4-46, Collingwood 3-16) by six wickets.
