Bravo to Fly Back Home, Hinds Added in Windies Squad
04-Feb-2010 08:43:00 GMT

Kingston: West Indies team suffered a big blow ahead of their One-day series against Australia as star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo was Thursday ruled out of the ongoing tour due to a finger injury.

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has named Wavell Hinds as Bravo's replacement.

The One-day series begins on Sunday at Melbourne. "Bravo has failed to recover from a finger injury and will not be able to participate in the limited-overs series, which will include five ODIs and two T20 Internationals.

He sustained a damaged right thumb last month and will require additional time to recover," a WICB release said.

Bravo will return to Trinidad to continue his rehabilitation and is expected to be fit for the series against Zimbabwe, which starts on February 28, the release added.
