Hyderabad: Chasing 133 to win, Royal Challengers Bangalore could only manage 123/9 to be knocked out of the IPL. Chennai became the 4th team to qualify.

Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered huge blow as they lost Virat Kohli who added 46 runs with Saurabh Tiwary in their must-win IPL 5 match against Deccan Chargers.

Ashish Reddy broke the crucial fifth wicket stand to keep Chargers afloat in the match. Kohli smacked two fours and two sixes in his 42 runs knock. Chasing 133, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost AB de Villiers and Mayank Agarwal in quick succession.

Amit Mishra dismissed de Villiers, who was caught by JP Duminy at cover. Three balls later, RCB dealt another blow when Agarwal was bowled by Mishra's quick delivery.

Deccan Chargers' Dale Steyn struck in his successive overs to dismiss Chris Gayle and Tillakaratne Dilshan in their IPL 5 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Royal Challengers Bangalore got off to blistering start with 30 runs on the board in just 2.5 overs. Gayle set the tone for Bangalore as he cracked 27 off 10 balls in their must-win match.

Dale Steyn ended Gayle's storm to give Royal Challengers massive blow. Gayle smashed three fours and two sixes during his fine cameo.

RCB suffered another jolt in quick succession when Steyn caught Tillakaratne Dilshan plumb in front of the wicket to rock visitors chase.

Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers produced a discipline effort despite JP Duminy's (74 off 53 balls) to restrict Deccan Chargers to 132/7.

Vinay Kumar was the pick of the bowler, taking three wickets in which two of them came on the last two deliveries of the innings. He dismissed Parthiv Patel and Ashish Reddy, conceding just six runs in the last over.

Duminy led the Chargers recovery after suffering blows at regular intervals. The southpaw hammered three sixes in the 18th over bowled by Muttiah Muralitharan.

Duminy and Patel shared 71-run stand in 46 balls to guide Chargers towards the respectable total. Zaheer Khan ended Duminy's flamboyant knock which was studded with four fours and five sixes.

Prasanth Parameswaran gave Royal Challengers third wicket by removing Cameron White to leave the Chargers tottering at 20/3 4.2 overs.

After losing Shikhar Dhawan early, Deccan suffered another blow when Vinay Kumar dismissed Akshath Reddy for 7 to give Bangalore momentum.

Royal Challengers Bangalore's Zaheer Khan struck in the first over of the innings to remove Shikhar Dhawan in their must-win match.

Earlier, Bangalore stand-in skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bowl against Deccan Chargers in the 71st match of the tournament.

Sangakkara replaced Chris Lynn in the Chargers playing eleven while RCB have retained the same team.
