Brisbane: Tim Southee picked up four wicket and break Australian batting line up on their home. Michael Clarke 98 (217b, 9x4) is top scorer in Aussie team, but he miss his hundred. One stage Australia 160 for 8, but Clarke added 23 runs for nine wickets with Johnson and 31 runs with Stuart Clark for tenth wickets.

For New Zealand IE O'Brien (2-44) and JD Ryder (2-7) full support Tim Southee bowling. CS Martin and DL Vettori took one wicket each. At stumps New Zealand were 7 for no loss.
