400th ODI Victory for Team India

Colombo: India notched up their 400th one-day international victory when they thrashed Sri Lanka by six wickets in the fourth ODI of the five-match series at R Premadasa Stadium on Tuesday.

Riding on a fluent century by Virat Kohli 128 his 13th hundred in 89 ODIs and a career-best bowling figures of four for 61 by Manoj Tiwary, India beat Sri Lanka with 46 balls to spare and took an unassailable 3-1 lead.

India played their first one-day international at Leeds against England on July 13, 1974 under the captaincy of Ajit Wadekar but they tasted their first success in the limited overs cricket only on June 11, 1975 in a World Cup game against East Africa.

India beat East Africa by 10 wickets in that match at Leeds under the captaincy of S Venkataraghavan. The current Indian team is led by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
